The Japanese men's national handball team representing Japan in international tournaments in Men Handball .
The team was a total of two Asian champions (most recently in 1979) and has so far taken part in eight handball world championships , the best placement they achieved with 10th place at the 1970 World Cup in France .
After the 2017 World Cup , Dagur Sigurðsson switched from the German to the Japanese national team as a coach.
