The Japanese national women's handball team represents Japan in international matches and tournaments in women's handball .
Japan has participated in every Asian Cup so far . In 2004 Japan recorded its only title win. The women's national team qualified for the World Cup for the first time in 1962 and has been participating in the tournament regularly since 1995. 7th place at the 1965 World Cup is the best so far. The only participation in the Olympic Games so far was in 1976 .
