President's Cup
At the President's Cup, places 17 to 24 were played out. The group fifth from the preliminary round played for places 17 to 20 and the group sixth from the preliminary round for places 21 to 24. Just like the finals, the games were played in knockout mode. In the event of a tie after regular time, a 7-meter throw took place in the placement games without prior extra time. Otherwise, the games for 17th, 19th, 21st and 23rd place had to be played in extra time with two five minutes playing time if the game ended in a draw. If the first extra time also ended in a draw, a second extra time had to be played twice for five minutes. If there is still no team in the lead, the game had to be decided in a 7-meter throw, just as in the placement games.
