Charlotte and Julie Bonaventura

The twins Charlotte and Julie Bonaventura (born August 2, 1980 in Marseille ) are French handball referees . Together they form the team Bonaventura / Bonaventura.

The team is part of group 1 of the referees of the Fédération Française de Handball and directs both women's and men's handball games. You are among other things in action in the first French women's and men's handball league and have already led games in various major international tournaments.

Career

The twins made their first international appearances at the 2009 Women's Handball World Championship in China and the 2011 Women's Handball World Championship in Brazil .

In 2012 they were nominated as one of two French referee teams for the handball tournament of the 2012 Summer Olympics in London . One of her most important missions is leading the women's final between Norway and Montenegro.

On May 4, 2014, they led the final of the EHF Women's Champions League 2013/14 between Győri ETO KC and FC Midtjylland Håndbold . On December 21, 2014, they led the final between Norway and Croatia at the 2014 European Women's Handball Championship in Hungary and Croatia, and the final of the 2015 Women's Handball World Championship in Denmark between the Netherlands and Norway on December 20, 2015 .

In January 2017, the twins were in action at the 2017 Handball World Cup in France. They formed the first female referee team at a world championship for men. In December of the same year they were used at the 2017 Women's Handball World Championship in Germany, and in December 2019 at the 2019 Women's Handball World Championship in Japan.
