The 26th women's handball world championship will be held in Denmark , Norway and Sweden in 2023 . A total of 24 teams compete. The organizer is the International Handball Federation (IHF).

host

On January 28, 2017 in Paris, the IHF awarded the hosting of the 2023 World Cup to the three Scandinavian associations from Denmark, Norway and Sweden, which means that for the first time in history a host trio will host a women's World Cup.

qualification

24 teams will take part in the tournament. Denmark, Norway and Sweden are directly qualified as hosts as well as the still to be determined world champions from 2021 .
