Ana Eduarda Idalina Amorim-Taleska (born September 23, 1986 in Blumenau ) is a Brazilian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Brazilian national team.
Career
In the club
Eduarda Amorim began playing handball in 1998 in her hometown at Colégio Barão do Rio Branco. From 2002 the backcourt player ran for Metodista and two years later joined São Caetano. At the turn of the year 2005/06 Amorim moved to Europe, where she went on the hunt for goals for the Macedonian club Kometal Gjorče Petrov Skopje . At that time, her older sister Ana Amorim was also under contract with Kometal Gjorče Petrov Skopje. With the capital city club she won both the Macedonian championship and the Macedonian cup in every season.
When Kometal Skopje got into financial difficulties in 2009, Eduarda Amorim moved to the top Hungarian club Győri ETO KC . With Győri ETO KC she won the Hungarian championship in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 as well as the Hungarian Cup in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2018 and 2019. With the Hungarian club, she was in the final of the EHF Champions League in 2012 , but failed there at the Montenegrin club ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica . Amorim scored 75 goals in this competition and finished sixth on the top scorer list. In 2013 the Brazilian reached the final with her club again, in which Győri ETO KC won his first European title. In 2014, 2017, 2018 and 2019 she also won the Champions League. In February 2015 she was elected the 2014 world handball player.
In the national team
Eduarda Amorim initially ran for the Brazilian national junior team and was then accepted into the senior national team. With the Brazilian selection she took part in the 15th Pan-American Games in Rio de Janeiro and the 16th Pan-American Games in Guadalajara , where she won the gold medal. The Brazilian also took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
Eduarda Amorim was a member of the Brazilian squad at the 2007 , 2009 , 2011 and 2013 World Championships . At the 2013 World Cup in Serbia , Amorim celebrated winning the World Cup and was also voted the most valuable player of the tournament . In November 2014, Amorim tore a cruciate ligament in a friendly game for the Brazilian team , which is why she has to take a break of several months. She won the gold medal at the 2017 Pan American Championship .

Her older sister Ana Amorim also plays handball.
