Trine Haltvik (born March 23, 1965 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian handball trainer and a former handball player .
Player career
Trine Haltvik played in her hometown for Byåsen IL , with whom she became Norwegian champion five times. In the 1999/2000 season she ran for the Spanish first division club BM Remudas, then she returned to Byåsen IL. In 1998 she was voted world handball player of the year. In 2006 she ended her career and became a mother for the third time. Haltvik celebrated her comeback in October 2010 at the then Norwegian first division club Selbu IL , where she played with her first-born daughter Katinka . In March 2011, Haltvik announced that she would end her career for good due to shoulder problems. Despite this announcement, she ran again for the relegated Selbu IL in the 2011/12 season.
Haltvik played 241 international matches for the Norwegian national team , with which they won the 1998 European Championship and the 1999 World Cup . She took part in the Olympic Games in 1988 , 1996 and 2000 , where she won the silver medal in 1988 and the bronze medal in 2000.
Coaching career
Haltvik was already active as a trainer in the youth division of the Norwegian handball association before her first career end , where she still works today. In the summer of 2012, the Norwegian also took over Selbu IL, where she took over the coaching position of her partner Eskil Berg Andreassen. In mid-2014 she went to the Toppidrettsgymnaset i Telemark sports school in Skien as a trainer . In early 2015 it was announced that she would start as a trainer at Gjerpen Håndball .
