ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica ( Ženski rukometni klub Budućnost Podgorica ) is a Montenegrin women's handball club from Podgorica .

history

The ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica was founded on February 13, 1949. The first success was the Yugoslav Cup victory in 1984. A year later they won the Yugoslav Championship and the European Cup Winners' Cup . In the 1986/87 season, the second international cup success followed with the EHF Cup . From the 1988/89 season Budućnost dominated the respective national championship and until 1991 regularly won the championship.

At the European level, it was not until 2006 when ŽRK Budućnost was able to claim another international title with the European Cup Winners' Cup. In 2010 Budućnost again won the European Cup Winners' Cup. In the 2011/12 season, the team moved into the final of the EHF Champions League for the first time . With the away goals rule , Budućnost prevailed against the Hungarian club Győri ETO KC and achieved the greatest success in its club's history.
