Bárbara Elisabeth Arenhart (born October 4, 1986 in Novo Hamburgo ) is a Brazilian handball player .

Career

Arenhart initially played for the Brazilian clubs Santa / Feevale and Metodista. In 2007 the goalkeeper moved to Europe for the Spanish club Parc Sagunto . With Sagunto, she won the Copa de la Reina in 2008. In the summer of 2010 she signed a contract with the Norwegian first division club Byåsen IL . After a season for Byåsen, she joined the Austrian association Hypo Niederösterreich . Arenhart won the championship three times with Hypo , the ÖHB Cup three times and the European Cup Winners ' Cup once . In Austria she was voted player of the year 2013. On February 14, 2013, Hypo Niederösterreich announced that Arenhart was leaving the club and joining the Romanian top club HCM Baia Mare together with her teammate Alexandra do Nascimento . A season later she moved to the Danish first division club Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub . From summer 2016 she was under contract with the Hungarian association Ipress Center-Vác . For the 2020/21 season she moved to the Montenegrin first division club ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica .

Arenhart is a member of the Brazilian national handball team . With Brazil she won the gold medal at the Pan American Games 2011 in Guadalajara and at the Pan American Games 2015 in Toronto . She also won the Pan American Championship in 2011 , 2013 and 2017 . She also took part in the World Cup in 2009 , 2011 and 2013 . In 2013 she won the world title and was also elected to the Allstar team. She took part in the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro .
