Maja Savić (born April 29, 1976 in Ivangrad , Yugoslavia ) is a former Montenegrin handball player .
Career
Savić played for ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica until 2004 . She then joined the Danish first division club Slagelse DT , with whom she won the EHF Champions League and the Danish championship in 2005 and 2007 . In 2008, the right-hander moved to league rivals FCK Håndbold , with whom she won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2009 and the Danish Cup in 2010. In the summer of 2010, Savić signed a contract with Viborg HK , with which she was able to celebrate a cup success. Before the 2011/12 season, the winger returned to the Montenegrin club ŽRK Budućnost Podgorica. With Budućnost she won the Champions League, the championship and the cup in 2012. After the 2011/12 season, she ended her career.
Savić was part of the squad of the Montenegrin national team . In the summer of 2012, she took part in the Olympic Games in London with Montenegro , where she won the silver medal.
After her retirement, Savić took over as coach of the Montenegrin youth national team.
