Sven Lang

Sven Lang (born June 4, 1962 ) is a German athletics trainer .

In his youth, Sven Lang was mainly active in the decathlon . Until 1989 he studied sports science at the German University for Physical Culture in Leipzig . During his studies he worked as a trainer at the athletics training centers in Thum and Großolbersdorf .

In 1990 he was a co-founder of LV 90 Thum, which is known today under the name LV 90 Erzgebirge . He later became a regional trainer in Saxony. With the specialization of the individual athletics national coach, he turned to the throwing area.

In 2009, Sven Lang was appointed managerial coach for young women. In 2012 he became national coach for the men's A-squad in the shot put .

Sven Lang trained the shot putter David Storl, who competed for the SC DHfK Leipzig until 2017 . His current top athletes include the shot putter Christina Schwanitz , who competes for the LV 90 Erzgebirge, and the shot putter, Patrick Müller, who competes for the SC Neubrandenburg. He also trained the shot putter Sophie Kleeberg , who was also active for the LV 90 Thum and LV 90 Erzgebirge.
