Sophie Kleeberg (born May 30, 1990 ) is a former German shot putter .

In 2007 Kleeberg won the bronze medal in the shot put at the World Athletics Championships in Ostrava. In the following year she was German youth champion and took fifth place at the athletics junior world championships in Bydgoszcz . In 2009 she won the German Youth Championships in the hall and won the bronze medal at the European Athletics Junior Championships in Novi Sad. The following year she became German Junior Champion.

At the beginning of 2011 Kleeberg began to establish itself in the adult sector for the first time. At the German Indoor Championships in Leipzig , she finished third behind her club mate Christina Schwanitz and Josephine Terlecki from Magdeburg . Shortly afterwards, she was sixth at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Paris with a personal best of 17.63 m, while Schwanitz and Terlecki won silver and bronze. At the U23 European Athletics Championships in Ostrava, she climbed to 17.92 m and thus won the silver medal. A little later she also took second place at the Universiade in Shenzhen .

In the following years she did not achieve any further increases in performance. Although she became German U23 champion in 2012 and finished fifth at the German championships in 2013 , she was no longer able to qualify for major international events. After persistent injury problems, she ended her competitive sports career in August 2014 to concentrate on studying pedagogy in Chemnitz.

Sophie Kleeberg last started for the LV 90 Thum and was trained by Sven Lang .
