Viborg HK

Viborg HK ( Viborg Håndbold Klub ) is a Danish handball club from Viborg . The women's team plays in the highest Danish league. The men's team also competed in the highest Danish league for many years.

history

Viborg HK was founded in 1936. The women's team made it to the top Danish league in 1989. Since then they have won 14 championships and ten national cups. In addition, they won seven trophies at European level.

The men's team rose in 1999 to the top division. The best placement was the runner-up in 2007. In May 2013, the club announced that it would withdraw its men's team for the 2013/14 season for financial reasons. The men start a fresh start in the 2nd division, the third highest division.

The association runs a college that was attended by Pia Hildebrand , among others .
