Gábor Császár [ ˈɡaːbor ˈʧaːsaːr ] (born June 16, 1984 in Celldömölk / Hungary ) is a Hungarian handball player . He is 1.86 m tall.
Császár, who has played for the Swiss club Kadetten Schaffhausen since 2015 and plays for the Hungarian national team (shirt number 4), can be used in many ways in the backcourt ; so at Szeged he mostly played as the middle back, at Viborg mostly on the left back.
Gábor Császár made his debut in the first division in 2001 at Dunaferr SE . The talented director quickly rose to become the national player and top scorer of his team; his greatest successes with the team remained the Hungarian Cup victories in 2003 and 2004 as well as third place in the Hungarian championship four times. After he had his international breakthrough at the 2007 World Cup , he was briefly in conversation with the German VfL Gummersbach , but in the summer of 2007 he moved to the Danish club Viborg HK . After the end of the Danish championship, Császár helped out from April to June 2008 at short notice at the Spanish first division club CB Cantabria Santander . In the summer of 2009 he moved to Chambéry Savoie HB , where he only played one season. A year later he joined the Hungarian club KC Veszprém , with which he won the double three times in a row . After the 2012/13 season he moved to the French first division club Paris Saint-Germain . He won the French Cup with Paris in 2014. In February 2015 he joined the Kadetten Schaffhausen. With the Kadetten Schaffhausen he won the championship in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019 as well as the SHV Cup in 2016 .
Gábor Császár has so far played 238 international matches for the Hungarian men's handball team . With Hungary he finished fourth at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, he also took part in the men's handball world championship in Germany in 2007 , but only finished 9th. In the summer of 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London and again took fourth place.
