Alexander Mierzwa (born June 4, 1974 in Buxtehude ) is a former German handball player .

Career

Alexander Mierzwa first played at VfL Fredenbeck and HSG Konstanz . From 1997 the 1.85-meter-tall left winger was under contract with Bundesliga club TV Großwallstadt , with whom he won the Euro City Cup in 2000. From 2003 he ran for VfL Gummersbach . from where he moved to the National League A to Pfadi Winterthur in 2006 . In his first season he was top scorer with 249 goals. With Pfadi he won the Swiss Cup in 2009/10. From 2010 Mierzwa was the player- coach at the Swiss first division club HSC Kreuzlingen , with whom he was promoted to the National League B for the 2013/14 season. At the end of the 2012/13 season, he resigned from his position for professional reasons. Since November 2013 he has been active as the sports director at HSC Kreuzlingen.

Alexander Mierzwa played 14 international matches for the German national team , with which he took part in the 2000 European Championship in Croatia .
