Chen Pomeranz (born May 28, 1984 in Hod Hasharon , Israel ) is an Israeli handball player. Because of his German grandmother, he also has German citizenship .

Bitteranz, who plays for the Israeli national team, is mostly used in the center of the back .

Chen Pomeranz started playing handball at AS Ramat Hod hascharon in his hometown. He was soon discovered by talent scouts and moved to the next largest club, ASA Tel Aviv, where he made his debut in the Israeli first division and won the Israeli Cup in 2005. As a result, foreign clubs became aware of Pomeranz; Finally, in 2006 he was hired by the Grasshopper Club Zurich . There Pomeranz was the Swiss runner-up, but received only a few operating times. After only one year he moved on to the newly promoted HC Kriens . There he found his way around much better, managed to stay up and became the top scorer in the National League A with 266 goals . With this recommendation, Pomeranz was signed by the German handball Bundesliga club HSG Wetzlar in summer 2008 . A year later he moved to the second division ASV Hamm . With Hamm, Pomeranz rose to the Bundesliga . Then Hamm formed a sports community with the Ahlen SG , the HSG Ahlen-Hamm . Pomeranz was the HSG's best thrower and was a participant in the 2011 HBL All-Star Game . In the same season , the HSG was relegated and disbanded. Then Pomeranz was without a club. In November 2011, he signed a contract with the successor club, ASV Hamm-Westphalia, which ran until July 2014. On November 8, 2012, ASV Hamm announced that Pomeranz was leaving the club for TV Großwallstadt . Pomeranz played for Großwallstadt until the summer of 2015 and then took a break. In January 2016 he signed a contract with Maccabi Tel Aviv. With Maccabi Tel Aviv he won the Israelite championship in 2016. After Pomeranz returned to AS Ramat hascharon in 2018, he joined the Spanish club BM Puerto Sagunto two years later .

Chen Pomeranz has so far played over 160 international matches for the Israeli national team, but has never qualified for a major international tournament with his country. At the U21 World Cup in Hungary in 2005, he was the top scorer. In qualifying for the 2015 World Cup , he was the top goalscorer with 56 goals in six games, but narrowly failed in the play-offs.
