Handball Bundesliga 2009/10

The Handball Bundesliga 2010/11 (full name after the main sponsor Toyota Handball Bundesliga 2010/11 ) was the 33rd of the single-track seasons and the 45th season of the highest German division in men's handball in the history of the Bundesliga . The season began on August 25, 2010 and ended with the last game day on June 4, 2011.

18 teams played for the German championship. The first in the table on the last match day is German champions 2011. HSG Ahlen-Hamm and TSG Friesenheim were promoted to the new season . In addition, the DHB Cup was played for the 37th time.

The team of HSV Hamburg became German champions for the first time in the club's history .

HSG Ahlen-Hamm , TSG Friesenheim and the insolvent DHC Rheinland had to relegate from the Bundesliga to the 2nd Bundesliga .

In 306 games, with a total of 17,325 goals (average 56.6 per game), roughly as many goals were scored as in the 2009/10 season . There were 162 home wins, 27 draws and 116 away wins. The highest home win was recorded by THW Kiel on matchday 5 with 40:18 against HBW Balingen-Weilstetten . The highest away win on matchday 9 was also achieved by the THW Kiel team with 23:36 at HSG Ahlen-Hamm . The game with the highest number of goals took place on matchday 34 between HSG Ahlen-Hamm and SG Flensburg-Handewitt and ended 40:34. That was 17 goals more than the overall average. Three clubs were at the top of the table during the season: Füchse Berlin (4 ×), THW Kiel (7 ×) and HSV Hamburg (23 ×). The top scorer was Anders Eggert from SG Flensburg-Handewitt with 248/132 goals .

The HSV Hamburg team secured the DHB Cup, which was played for the 37th time .

Eight German teams also competed in European competitions. The VfL Gummersbach secured the EHF European Cup Winners' Cup 2010/11 and Frisch Auf Göppingen won the 2010-11 EHF Cup . The THW Kiel also won the IHF Super Globe 2011 .

The team from THW Kiel won the 2010/11 DHB Cup . In the final on May 8, 2011 at the O 2 World in Hamburg in front of 13,000 spectators, she defeated the SG Flensburg-Handewitt team with 30:24 (16:13).
