Daniel Gerrit Eijlers (born May 9, 1980 in Amsterdam ) is a former Dutch handball goalkeeper . He last played for HV KRAS / Volendam and the Dutch national team .

Career

Gerrie Eijlers grew up in Volendam , where he also started playing handball. At HV KRAS / Volendam he made his debut in the first Dutch league and won the Dutch championship twice before moving to SG Solingen in Germany in the 2nd handball league in 2003. In 2006 he joined the traditional club TUSEM Essen , which in 2005 was forcibly relegated to the regional league and immediately promoted back to the second division. With Essen, Eijlers managed to march straight through the 2nd league and in 2007 his team rose again to the 1st handball league . From November 7, 2008 to the end of the season Gerrie Eijlers played for HBW Balingen-Weilstetten and moved to SC Magdeburg for the 2009/10 season . From 2014 to 2017 he guarded the gate for GWD Minden . Then he returned to the HV KRAS / Volendam. Eijlers ended his career after the 2019/20 season.
