Pavel Horák (born November 28, 1982 in Přerov , Czechoslovakia ) is a Czech handball player . He is 1.98 m tall.
Horák is mostly used in the left back space.
Pavel Horák started playing handball in his hometown at HC Přerov. Later he came into the youth of serial master Baník Karviná, where he also made his debut in the Czech first division. There he won the Czech championship in 2001, 2002, 2004, 2005 and 2006 and the Czech Cup in 2001 and 2002. In 2006 he moved for one season to Ahlener SG in the German 2nd handball Bundesliga before joining the first division club Frisch Auf Göppingen in 2007. With Göppingen he won the EHF Cup in 2011 and 2012 . For the 2013/14 season he moved to Füchsen Berlin, with whom he won the DHB Cup in 2014 and the EHF Europe Cup in 2015 . From the 2015/16 season until the end of the 2016/17 season, Horak played for HC Erlangen . In summer 2017 he then moved to the Belarusian club Brest GK Meschkow , with which he won the Belarusian championship and the Belarusian cup in 2018.
For the 2019/20 season he moved to the German record champions THW Kiel , with whom he signed a one-year contract. With Kiel he won the German championship in 2020.
Pavel Horák has played 130 international matches for the Czech national team so far. With the Czech Republic he also took part in the 2007 World Cup in Germany and the 2008 European Championship in Norway , but retired from the former in the main round and the latter in the preliminary round.
