Sander Sagosen (born September 14, 1995 in Trondheim ) is a Norwegian handball player who is mostly used on the back center . He is considered the "superstar" of the Norwegian national handball team.

Career

The 1.92 m tall and 82 kg heavy right-hander began playing handball at the Norwegian club Charlottenlund SK in Trondheim. For the 2012/13 season he went to the second division Kolstad IL , where he scored 133 goals in 21 games and was the third top scorer in the league. Thereupon the first division side Haslum HK signed him , which he threw with 102 goals in 22 games for first place after the main round. In the following championship round he was eliminated with Haslum in the group stage. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Danish club Aalborg Håndbold . With Aalborg he won the Danish championship in 2017. From the 2017/18 season he was under contract with the French first division club Paris Saint-Germain . With Paris he won the French championship in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and the French cup in 2018. On March 22, 2019 it was announced that Sagosen will be moving to THW Kiel in 2020 .

Sander Sagosen went through the Norwegian youth and junior national teams. At the U-18 European Championship in 2012, he was ninth, scored 19 goals and distributed 40 assists. At the U-19 World Cup in 2013, he finished fifth. There he scored 57 goals and gave 14 assists. Sagosen made his debut in the Norwegian national team on November 1, 2013 against Croatia . At the 2014 European Championship , he was eliminated after the preliminary round. With Norway he was runner- up in 2017 and 2019 and third in the European championship in 2020 . He was elected to the All-Star Team at the 2019 World Cup and the 2020 European Championship. So far, he has played 105 international matches in which he scored 498 goals.

Sagosen is in a relationship with the former Norwegian handball player Hanna Bredal Oftedal .
