Máté Lékai [ ˈmaːteː ˈleːkɒ.i ] (born June 19, 1988 in Budapest ) is a Hungarian handball player .

The 1.90 meter tall and 82 kilogram heavy middle back player was under contract with RK Celje from 2012 to 2014 . In 2013 and 2014 he won the Slovenian Cup with Celje and the championship in 2014. In the EHF Champions League he reached the round of 16 in 2012/13 and 2013/14. With Pler KC Budapest he played in the EHF Cup (2006/07, 2009/10 seasons) and in the European Cup Winners' Cup (2005/06, 2007/08, 2008/09). In 2010 he moved to Pick Szeged and took part in the Champions League in two seasons. For the 2014/15 season he moved to the Hungarian top club KC Veszprém . With Veszprém he won the championship in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2019 as well as the Hungarian Cup in 2015, 2016, 2017 and 2018.

Máté Lékai scored 322 goals in 122 international matches for the Hungarian national team (as of December 2018); he was in Hungary's squad for the 2010 and 2014 European handball championships . In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London .
