Dejan Manaskov ( Macedonian Дејан Манасков ; born August 26, 1992 in Créteil , France ) is a Macedonian handball player . His father is the former national handball player Pepi Manaskov and his younger brother is Martin Manaskov .
The 1.81 m tall and 78 kg heavy right-hander is mostly used on the left wing .
Career
Dejan Manaskov started playing handball at RK Borec Veles when he was 10 years old. From 2008 he ran for RK Metalurg Skopje . With Metalurg he won the Macedonian championship four times and the cup four times. He also reached the quarter-finals of the 2008/09 European Cup Winners' Cup , the 2012/13 EHF Champions League and the 2013/14 EHF Champions League . After Metalurg got into financial difficulties in the 2014/15 season, he left Skopje and signed a contract with the German Bundesliga club HSG Wetzlar until the end of the season , to which his former teammate Vladan Lipovina had already switched. For the 2015/16 season he returned to Skopje and joined RK Vardar Skopje . In the summer of 2016 he moved to the German Bundesliga club Rhein-Neckar Löwen . He has been under contract with the Hungarian club Telekom Veszprém since the 2017/18 season . With Veszprém he won the Hungarian championship in 2019.
With the Macedonian national team Dejan Manaskov took part in the 2012 European Championship (5th place; 4 goals), the 2013 World Championship (14th place, 26 goals), the 2014 European Championship (10th place; 19 goals) and the 2015 World Championship . So far, he has played 38 international matches in which he scored 117 goals. (As of December 11, 2016)
Dejan Manaskov, who moved to Germany with his family at the age of two and went to kindergarten in Lower Saxony, speaks fluent German.
