Barys Puchouski ( Belarusian Барыс Пухоўскі , Russian Борис Пуховский / Boris Puchowski, English Barys Pukhouski ; born January 3, 1987 in Malaryta , Belarusian SSR , USSR ) is a Belarusian handball player who is mostly used on the back area.

Career

The 1.84 m tall and 83 kg heavy right-hander made his debut at the age of 15 in the Belarusian league at SKA Minsk , with whom he won the 2006 cup. In the 2007/08 European Cup Winners' Cup , he was fourth-best scorer with 50 goals, although he was eliminated in the third round. In 2009 he moved to HC Dinamo Minsk , with whom he won the championship in 2010, 2011 and 2012 and the cup in 2010. Internationally, he reached the group stage of the EHF Champions League 2010/11 , where he scored 55 goals. A year later he made it to the quarter-finals of the EHF Cup . In 2012 he returned to Minsk and led SKA to the cup triumph and with 92 goals as top scorer to win the EHF Challenge Cup . From 2013 to 2015 he ran for the Hungarian club Csurgói KK . There he was in the group stage of the EHF Europa Pokal 2013/14 . Since 2015 he has been playing for the Ukrainian club HK Motor Zaporischschja .

With the Belarusian national team , Barys Puchouski took part in the 2008 European Championship , the 2013 World Championship and the 2014 European Championship . So far, he has played 196 international matches , in which he scored 838 goals.
