Alex Dujshebaev Dovichevaeva (born December 17, 1992 in Santander , Cantabria ) is a Spanish handball player . The left-hander usually plays in the right back space and plays for the Polish club KS Kielce . The son of the two-time world handball player Talant Dujshebaev was considered one of the greatest talents in Spanish handball.

Career

Dujshebaev began in the youth of BM Ciudad Real and played in the 2009/2010 season for the first time in the first team of the club coached by his father, mostly on the right winger . At the end of the season he left Ciudad Real and joined CB Ciudad de Logroño . From 2012 he played for BM Aragón in the Spanish league ASOBAL in the right backcourt. In June 2013 he signed a contract with Atlético Madrid . Since Atlético had to withdraw his team for financial reasons shortly thereafter, he joined the Macedonian club RK Vardar Skopje . With Vardar he won the cup in 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017, the championship in 2015, 2016 and 2017, the SEHA league in 2014 and 2017 and the EHF Champions League in 2017. In the EHF Champions League 2013/14 he was defeated by SG Flensburg-Handewitt in the quarter-finals due to the away goals rule . Before that, he eliminated the defending champion HSV Hamburg . He has been playing for the Polish club KS Kielce since the 2017/18 season . With Kielce he won the Polish championship in 2018, 2019 and 2020 and the Polish Cup in 2018 and 2019.

At the U21 World Cup in 2013, he was elected to the All-Star team.

Alex Dujshebaev made his debut for the Spanish national team on January 3, 2014 . He was in the extended squad for the 2014 European Championship , but was unable to participate due to a hand injury. In 2018 and 2020 he was European champion with the Spanish team .
