BM Atlético de Madrid is a Spanish handball club from Madrid . His first team won the first edition of the Spanish indoor championship in 1952 and remained very successful until its dissolution in 1994.
For the 2011/12 season, the licensing team from the BM Ciudad Real , which had dominated Spain and at European level in recent years, moved to the Spanish capital for financial reasons and now bears the name, emblem and jersey of the traditional club.
Before the 2013/14 season, the club withdrew from playing due to financial problems.
