John Hermann Loud

John Hermann Loud (born August 26, 1873 in Weymouth / Massachusetts ; † August 6, 1959 there ) was an American organist and composer.

Loud attended the Berkeley School in Boston and the Thayer Academy in Braintree. He was an organ student of Alexandre Guilmant , who dedicated the Deo Gratias from the Organiste Liturgiste collection to him. In 1896 he became organist at the First Congregational Church in Springfield / Mass., From 1900 to 1905 he was organist at the First Congregational Church in Brookline. He then became organist and choirmaster at the First Baptist Church in Newton Center, and finally organist at Park Church in Boston.

Loud also worked as a concert organist and as an organ and piano teacher. He composed a number of organ works.
