Nikolaj Markussen
Nikolaj Rømer Berg Markussen (born August 1, 1988 in Helsinge ) is a Danish handball player .
The 2.11 meter tall and 95 kilogram left back player was under contract with the Danish first division club Nordsjælland Håndbold . For the 2011/2012 season he moved to Atlético Madrid , where he won the Spanish Cup in 2012. In March 2013 he moved to the al-Jaish club from Qatar. In the 2014/15 season he ran for the Danish club Skjern Håndbold . With Skjern he won the Danish Cup of the 2013/14 season on March 29, 2015. From summer 2015 he was under contract with the Danish club Bjerringbro-Silkeborg . With Bjerringbro-Silkeborg he won the championship in 2016. For the 2020/21 season he moved to the Hungarian first division club KC Veszprém .
Nikolaj Markussen has played 67 international matches for the Danish national team so far , in which he scored 141 goals. In 2012 he won the European Championship with Denmark . At the XVII. In the 2009 Junior World Championship he was elected to the All-Star Team. In summer 2012 he took part in the Olympic Games in London . He became world champion at the 2019 World Cup.
