BM Arágon ( Club Deportivo Básico Balonmano Arágon ) was a Spanish handball club from Saragossa , Aragon in Spain .
history
The club was founded in December 2003 from the two big clubs of Saragossa, Rótulos Plasneón and Garbel Saragossa , who was relegated from the ASOBAL League in 2000 . Ricardo Arregui became the new president of the main sponsor Caja de Ahorros de la Inmaculada ( CAI for short ). The club took over the game license from Garbel Saragossa and was second in the 2004/05 season behind Algeciras BM , so that the club rose to the ASOBAL league. Thanks to the support of the main sponsor, the club succeeded in building a powerful team that promptly managed to stay in the league and even qualified for the EHF Cup . In the 2006/07 season, the club confirmed its ambitions with the 6th place and also made it to the final of the EHF Cup, where the team, however, failed because of the German SC Magdeburg Gladiators . In the 2015/16 season, the club withdrew from the ASOBAl league and was dissolved due to financial difficulties.
Main sponsor
The association was sponsored by the president's company, Caja de Ahorros de la Inmaculada ( CAI for short ). Therefore, the current official name of the association was CAI BM Aragón .
