Demetrio Lozano Jarque (born September 26, 1975 in Alcalá de Henares , Spain ) is a Spanish handball coach and handball player . He is 1.96 m tall and weighs 100 kg.
Lozano, who plays for the Spanish club BM Aragón and played for the Spanish national team, can be used in many ways in the backcourt ; But he prefers to play on the left side of the back .
Demetrio Lozano started playing handball in his hometown of Alcalá. In 1995 he played his first league games for Ademar León in the Spanish ASOBAL league , before moving to the Spanish series champions FC Barcelona-Cifec in 1998 . With the Catalans he won the Spanish championship, the EHF Champions League and the European Supercup in 1998/1999 and 1999/2000 as well as the Copa del Rey de Balonmano , the Copa ASOBAL and the Spanish Supercup in 1999/2000 . In 2001 the German association THW Kiel brought Lozano to the Baltic coast. Here he won the German championship in 2001/2002 and the EHF Cup in 2002 and 2004 , before returning to Spain in 2004 and signing with Portland San Antonio. With the Basques he won the Spanish championship again in 2004/2005 and was in the 2006 Champions League final. In 2007 Demetrio Lozano returned to FC Barcelona. In June 2010 he moved to league rivals BM Aragón. There he ended his playing career after the 2013/14 season and then became the club's coach. When the club suffered from injury concerns in October 2014, he made his comeback.
Demetrio Lozano has made 223 international appearances for the Spanish national team. In 2005 he became world champion with Spain . He also won Olympic bronze at the 1996 , 2000 and 2008 Olympic Games , silver at the European Championships in 1996, 1998 and 2006 and bronze in 2000.
