The vehicles of the ČD series 841 are low-floor diesel multiple units of the Czech railway company České dráhy (ČD), which have been in use in regional transport in Kraj Vysočina (Vysočina region) since 2012 . They correspond to the Stadler Regio-Shuttle RS1, which is widely used and proven in Germany . ČD has been marketing the trains as RegioSpider since January 2013 .

history

The Stadler Rail AG won a tender of ČD for the supply of 17 vehicles to operate in the region Vysočina and signed the contract in April 2010. The agreed price was 898 million crowns , of which the EU 200 million crowns took over. The following routes are planned:

The first vehicle of the 841 series with the vehicle registration number CZ-CD 95 54 5841 001-1 arrived in the Czech Republic in October 2011 . On October 28, 2011 the presentation to the interested public took place in Jihlava. Some special trips were carried out for the public. The remaining railcars were delivered in 2012.

In the spring of 2015, ČD rented the multiple units VT 650.65, 72, 73 and 74 from the Ostdeutsche Eisenbahn (ODEG). Since May 2015, the four vehicles have been in use as planned on the Častolovice – Rychnov nad Kněžnou , Týniště nad Orlicí – Doudleby nad Orlicí and Týniště nad Orlicí – Náchod routes. They are listed by ČD as 641 065, 72, 73 and 74.

Constructive features

The variant of the Stadler Regio-Shuttle of the ČD series 841 is equipped with engines from IVECO and hydromechanical transmissions from Voith of the type DIWA D 864.3E with built-in retarder . In addition to the latter, the vehicles have electropneumatic disc brakes, a spring-loaded parking brake and an electromagnetic rail brake in a bogie.

The multiple units have a longitudinal stiffness of 1500 kN. You can drive on changes in inclination with a gradient curve from 500 m.
