The SC Szeged is a Hungarian handball club from Szeged . The club was founded in 1961 and won the Hungarian championship in 1996, 2007 and 2018 . In 1977, 1982, 1983, 1993, 2006, 2008 and 2019 the Hungarian Cup was won. Currently, SC Szeged, together with KC Veszprém, is the strongest club in Hungary and regularly takes part in the Champions League .
SC Szeged plays its home games in the City Sports Hall ( Városi Sportcsarnok ) , which has a capacity of 3200 spectators.
Name change
The pick salami company is the club's main and name sponsor. The club had previously been supported by the local transport company Tisza Volán and had that name in the club's name.
