Magyar férfi kézilabda-bajnokság (German Hungarian men's handball championship ) or Nemzeti Bajnokság (short NB 1 , German national championship ) is the highest division in Hungarian men's handball . The league has been organized by the Hungarian Handball Federation (Magyar Kézilabda-szövetség) since 1951. The title holder of the 2017/18 season is Pick Szeged .

mode

The 14 teams play each against each other in the main round. The two worst teams are relegated to NB 1B. Then the Hungarian champions will be played in the play-offs. The leader of the table and the runner-up are set for the semi-finals. The third player plays against the sixth placed and the fourth against the fifth placed in best-of-three mode for the other semifinals.
