The Bläkhof is a listed property in the town of Gernrode, part of the town of Quedlinburg in Saxony-Anhalt .

location

The large courtyard is located in the western part of Gernröder's old town at the address Gersdorfstrasse 1 and is listed in the local monument register as Adelshof.

Architecture and history

The property is not far from the site of the Cyriakus Abbey , with which it was economically linked. Ministeriale des Stifts, the gentlemen von Gersdorff , owned the farm. The farm presumably dates back to the 15th century. The current building dates from the beginning of the 18th century. The two-storey residential building is built in half-timbered construction. It is covered with a hip roof . The ground floor is plastered and was built in massive construction from bricks and rubble stones . In 1749 the Bläkhof was mentioned as a Freihof along with three other Gernrode farms . In 1835 a painting tree was planted in the area of Goethe- / Abbessinstraße as a border marker between the Bläkhof and the Hennebergschen Hof. The tree was replaced in 1981.

The preserved gate system is striking for the appearance of the courtyard. The archway is provided with a profile and a mask on the apex stone ( agraffe ). The mask depicts a demon with his tongue hanging out and should keep evil away from the court. There is a side gate on the north side. The keystone above the door showed a coat of arms , which is no longer recognizable today.

The property also included a half-timbered farm building, which was demolished after 2005.
