The Pick Szeged Rt. Is an international Hungarian food manufacturers .
The company was founded in 1869 by Márk Pick , who made Italian salami in Hungary with different tastes and recipes. A well-known variety is the winter salami (Pick téliszalámi).
Before the Second World War , the company won several high-profile awards, after the war it was nationalized, and under socialism production grew steadily.
After the collapse of socialism, the descendants of Márk Pick made demands on the state. On June 30, 1992 the company became a public limited company and began to buy up other meat processing companies.
After the Pick-Délhús merger, the company gained a 30% market share, making it the market leader. The company thus combines three major brands, Pick , Délhús and Ringa . These and other companies form the Bonafarm Group, Hungary's largest agricultural and food company.
Pick is also a sponsor of SC Pick Szeged , an internationally successful handball team from Szeged.
