Mirko Alilović (born September 15, 1985 in Ljubuški , SR Bosnia and Herzegovina , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian handball player . His body length is 2.00 m.
Alilović, who plays for the Hungarian club SC Szeged and plays for the Croatian men's national handball team (shirt number 25), is a handball goalkeeper .
Mirko Alilović started with the RK Izviđač Ljubuški in his hometown with the handball game. There he made his debut in the first Bosnian league at the age of 15 and won the Bosnian championship in 2002, 2004 and 2005. In 2005 he was signed by the Spanish top club Ademar León. With Ademar he was in the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2007 , but was defeated by the German club HSV Hamburg . In summer 2010 he signed a contract with the Slovenian club RK Celje . After only one season he signed a contract with the top Hungarian club KC Veszprém . With Veszprém he won the championship in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017 as well as the cup in 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016 and 2017. In the EHF Champions League 2013/14 he reached the Final Four. In summer 2018 he moved to league rivals SC Szeged . With Szeged he won the Hungarian Cup in 2019.
Although he was born in Herzegovina , Mirko Alilović took on Croatian citizenship and has so far played 133 international matches for the Croatian men's national handball team. At the men's handball world championship in 2007 in Germany, he rose to number 1 in his team due to the injury-related loss of goalkeeper Vlado Šola ; in the end, however, Croatia only took 5th place. At the European Handball Championship in Norway in 2008 , he was runner-up with his country. At the Olympic Games in 2008 he finished fourth with Croatia and in 2009 he became vice world champion . In the summer of 2012, Alilović again took part in the Olympic Games in London , where he won the bronze medal.
