Stefán Rafn Sigurmannsson (born May 19, 1990 in Hafnarfjörður ) is an Icelandic handball player .

Career

Stefán Rafn Sigurmannsson played for Icelandic first division club Haukar Hafnarfjörður . In December 2012, the German Bundesliga team Rhein-Neckar Löwen signed him to replace the injured Uwe Gensheimer . In March 2013, his contract, initially limited to the end of the season, was extended by one year. The 1.96-meter-tall left winger won the EHF European Cup in 2013 with the lions . In December 2013, his contract was renewed for a year. In 2014 he reached the Final Four in the DHB Cup and was German runner-up . In summer 2016 he joined the Danish first division club Aalborg Håndbold . With Aalborg he won the Danish championship in 2017. He has been under contract with the Hungarian club SC Szeged since the 2017/18 season . With Szeged he won the Hungarian Championship in 2018 and the Hungarian Cup in 2019.

Stefán Rafn Sigurmannsson is a member of the Icelandic national team , with which he participated in the 2013 World Cup in Spain and the 2014 European Championship in Denmark.
