Object description

The rock cliffs are exposed to the west at the southern foot of the Mittelberg . The rocks are over 200 m long and up to 15 m high. They consist of red and green cypridene slate from the Upper Devonian and plate limestone from the Lower Carboniferous . The rocks have a lush and fern-rich vegetation. On the mountain slope above the rocks there is a mixed forest of beech and oak . The oaks and beeches are very old.

Commandments

A requirement for the natural monument was set when it was designated. Individual trees and groups of trees should be kept as old wood islands by drawing up a biotope management plan or a forest management plan beyond the normal cutting maturity.
