Rune Dahmke (born April 10, 1993 in Kiel ) is a German handball player who plays for the German record champions THW Kiel .

Career

Rune Dahmke started playing handball at SV Mönkeberg and moved to THW Kiel in 2008 . In the 2012/13 season Dahmke was given double play rights , he played in the 3rd division at TSV Altenholz and in the Champions League for THW Kiel, where he won a 28:25 away win over the Romanian club on February 20, 2013 HCM Constanța was used for 2½ minutes. With Altenholz he was promoted to the 2nd division for the 2013/14 season . From the 2013/14 season he was officially part of the THW Bundesliga squad , but continued to play for TSV Altenholz. For the 2014/15 season he signed a two-year contract with THW Kiel, where he played on the left wing as the successor to Guðjón Valur Sigurðsson, who had switched to FC Barcelona . In 2014 and 2015 he won the DHB Supercup with the zebras , the German championship in 2015 and 2020, the DHB Cup in 2017 and 2019 and the EHF Cup in 2019 .

National team

In November 2015, Dahmke was appointed by national coach Dagur Sigurðsson to the German national team for the Supercup against Brazil , Serbia and Slovenia . On November 6, 2015, he made his first appearance in the Flensburger Flens-Arena in the 29:20 victory over Brazil, to which he contributed one goal. At the European Championships in Poland in 2016 , he became European champions with the German team with a 24:17 victory over Spain . For the European Championship 2018 he was appointed to the 20-man squad by national coach Christian Prokop , who did the preparation. After initially not traveling to Croatia for the European Championship , he was nominated for the main round of the tournament on January 20, 2018. He has played 34 games so far in which he scored 68 goals.
