Handball Bundesliga 2019/20

The handball Bundesliga 2020/21 (full name after the main sponsor Liqui Moly Handball-Bundesliga 2020/21 ) is set to be the 43rd of the single-track seasons and the 55th season of the highest German division in men's handball in the history of the Bundesliga . The season should start on October 1, 2020 and end with the last matchday on June 30, 2021.

The newcomers to the new season were HSC 2000 Coburg and TUSEM Essen .

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , there were no relegated teams in the 2019/20 season, so the 2020/21 season starts again with 20 teams for the first time since 2000/01.

This season, 20 teams are to play in the mode everyone against everyone with one home and one away game for the German championship. In the event of a tie, the direct comparison decides . The first in the table on the last match day is German champions 2021, the four last placed are to relegate to the 2nd division . The first and second placed team qualify for participation in the EHF Champions League . The third to sixth placed are qualified for the European Handball League .
