EHF Champions League 2019/20
In the EHF Champions League 2019/20 28 handball club teams took part, which had qualified for the competition in their home leagues in the previous season. The defending champion was RK Vardar Skopje .
mode
Group stage: There were four groups that were divided into two performance groups. In each group, everyone played a game against each other. In groups A and B, the 16 teams classified as particularly powerful played, of which 5 teams per group should reach the second round; the respective group winners should go straight to the quarter-finals.
In groups C and D were the remaining twelve teams and the two winners of the qualification. The two first and second place winners should play the places for the round of 16 in a knockout round.
Round of 16 and quarter finals: Because of the COVID-19 pandemic , the round of 16 and quarter finals were not held. The two group winners in groups A and B went straight to the semi-finals of the Final Four.
Final Four: For the 10th time there was a Final Four tournament. The semi-finals were played in the knockout system. The winners of both games made it to the final, the losers contested the game for third place. Only one game was played per semi-final. The final and the game for third place were also played in simple mode.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic , the planned eighth and quarter-finals have been canceled. The first and second placed in groups A and B were determined as participants for the Final Four.
Final Four
The Final Four was only played in the following season, in December 2020. As in previous years, it took place in Cologne's Lanxess Arena . No viewers were allowed due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
