history
In 1922 the association RK Zagreb was founded in Zagreb.
In the 1998 Champions League quarter-finals at Pfadi Winterthur (the first leg in Zagreb was won 27:24), there were extraordinary tumults and accusations of bribery. The Russian referees and the players had to leave the hall under police protection. The protest put in by Pfadi was - combined with the announcement of improvements and selective measures - rejected in the second instance for lack of evidence. RK Zagreb ended this Champions League season with 2nd place behind FC Barcelona .
Venue
Until 2009, the RK Zagreb played its home games in Dom sportova, which holds 6,000 spectators . He then moved to the Arena Zagreb , which was rebuilt for the men's handball world championship in 2009 and is therefore more modern and has a capacity of around 9,000 more.
