Josip Valčić (born April 21, 1984 in Zadar , SFR Yugoslavia ) is a Croatian handball player . His body length is 1.90 m, his body weight is around 95 kilograms.

Josip Valčić began his professional handball career in the 2001/2002 season with the Croatian handball club RK Brodomerkur Split . In the 2002/2003 season he moved to Zagreb, to the local first division club RK Zagreb . With Zagreb he won the Croatian championship several times. The German first division club VfL Gummersbach signed him for the 2010/2011 season . With VfL Gummersbach, where Valčić wore jersey number 22, he won the European Cup Winners' Cup in 2011 . Since the 2011/2012 season he has been back at RK Zagreb and won the championship and cup every season.

He is used in the player position in the middle of the backcourt . For the first time Josip Valčić took part in a European handball competition with RK Brodomerkur Split in 2001/2002 and played in the EHF Cup . With RK Zagreb he took part in the EHF Champions League in 2003/2004, 2004/2005, 2006/2007 and 2007/2008 and in the EHF Cup Winners' Cup in 2006/2007 .

Josip Valčić is a team player in the Croatian national team and plays there with shirt number 22. He has so far played 30 international matches (24 goals). At the European Championships in Norway in 2008 , he was runner-up with the Croatian national team.

His older brother Tonči Valčić is also a handball player.
