Career
Renato Sulić played since his youth at Zamet-Crotek Rijeka in his hometown and played his first league games there. In the 1999/2000 season he was under contract with the top club Metković Jambo, but returned to Rijeka after a year. 2001 Sulić was committed by the Croatian series champion RK Zagreb . With the capital city, he won the Croatian championship in 2002, 2003 and 2004 and the Croatian Cup in 2003 and 2004. In the summer of 2004 Sulić signed a two-year contract with the Hungarian top club MKB Veszprém , but had a serious car accident a few days later, which forced him to take a one-year break. In 2005, he and Veszprém dissolved the contractual relationship without Sulić ever accruing for the Hungarians. In June 2005 Sulić signed with the Croatian club RK Agram Medveščak Zagreb. In 2006 he then moved to the Slovenian series champion RK Celje , where he won the Slovenian championship in 2007. In 2009 he returned to Veszprém and won the cup every season and the championship every year until 2017. From the 2018/19 season he played for the Polish club Wisła Płock . In summer 2020 he returned to RK Zamet Rijeka again.
Renato Sulić has so far played over 70 international matches for the Croatian national team. He shares the position of cyclist with Igor Vori . At the 2003 World Cup in Portugal, he became world champion ; due to his car accident, however, he missed the 2005 World Cup in Tunisia and the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens.
At the 2007 World Cup in Germany , he finished only a disappointing 5th place with the Croatians who came as the favorite for the title; at the European Handball Championship in Norway in 2008 , however, he was runner-up with his country.
