Blaženko Lacković (born December 25, 1980 in Novi Marof near Varaždin ) is a former Croatian handball player .

Career

Lacković plays on the left back position . His career began at RK Novi Marof, where he played from 1994 to 1997. He then moved to RK Varteks Di Caprio . He stayed there until 2001 and then played for RK Zagreb for three years . He then signed a contract with SG Flensburg-Handewitt , with which he reached the final of the EHF Champions League in 2007 . Lacković has played for HSV Hamburg since the 2008/09 season , with whom he won the German championship in 2011 and the 2013 Champions League. For the 2014/15 season he signed a three-year contract with the Macedonian club RK Vardar Skopje . With Vardar he won the Macedonian Cup and the championship in 2015. In February 2016 he joined the THW Kiel .

In the summer of 2017, Lacković returned to the handball sports club Hamburg. Although the playing assistant coach was incapacitated by a serious shoulder injury for around a year in the promotion season in the third division, Lackovic was an important factor in Hamburg’s defense, which laid the foundation for relegation in the second division. On May 28, 2020, the club announced that the veteran will end his active career and will henceforth only act as an assistant coach.

In the Croatian national team he is one of the most important players, who scores many goals with his enormous jumping and throwing power, especially from the backcourt. So far he has played 195 times for Croatia and scored 571 goals (as of July 11, 2013).
