Patrik Ćavar (born March 24, 1971 in Metković ) is a Croatian handball player .

Ćavar, who last played for the French club Saint Marcel Vernon and previously played for the Croatian men's national handball team, was flexible in all right-handed positions during his active time; Most of the time, however, he played on the left winger .

Patrik Ćavar started playing handball in his hometown at RK Metković . At the age of 17 he moved to Borac Banja Luka , and at 19 he moved to the top club RK Zagreb . With the capital city, he won the Croatian Championship and the Croatian Cup in 1991, 1992, 1993, 1994, 1995, 1996 and 1997, the European National Champions' Cup in 1992 and 1993 and the European Supercup in 1993 . During this time he was the top scorer in the Croatian league four times and was voted best player five times. In 1997 he moved to the Spanish top club FC Barcelona . With the Catalans he won the Spanish championship in 1998, 1999 and 2000 , the Copa del Rey de Balonmano in 1998 and 2000 , the Copa ASOBAL in 2000 and 2001, the Spanish Supercup in 1998, 2000 and 2001, and the EHF Champions in 1998, 1999 and 2000 League and the European Club Championship. In 2001 he moved to BM Granollers . There he won no further titles and returned in 2005 to his homeland, where he joined the RK Agram Medveščak Zagreb . From January 2006 he played again in the French first division for Saint Marcel Vernon before ending his career in the summer of 2007.

Patrik Ćavar has played over 160 international matches for the Croatian men's national handball team. With his country he won gold at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and was also the tournament's top scorer; at the men's handball world championship in 1995 in Iceland, his team won silver and at the 1994 European handball championship bronze. In the 2003 World Men's Handball Championship and the 2004 Olympics he was missing through injury.
