EHF Champions League 1993/94

In the EHF Champions League 1993/94 35 handball club teams took part, which had qualified for the competition in their home leagues in the previous season. It was the 34th edition of the EHF Champions League or the European Cup of National Champions and the first under the new name. Badel 1862 Zagreb was the last European champion's cup and thus defending champion . The cup games began on August 29, 1993, the second final took place on April 30, 1994. In the final, Teka Santander was able to prevail against ABC Braga .

mode

Before the group stage called “ Champions League ”, a round of elimination, a round of sixteen and a round of 16 in a knockout system with a return leg were held. The winners of the round of 16 qualified for the group stage with two groups of four teams each, in which each group had a return match against each other. The two best in the group played the winner of the EHF Champions League of the 1993/94 season in the final with a return leg.

The first leg took place on April 23, 1994 in Braga and the second leg on April 30, 1994 in Santander . In the inaugural season, Teka Santander was the first ever winner of the EHF Champions League.
