EHF Women's Champions League 2008/09
A total of 32 handball club teams took part in the 2008/09 Champions League season and had qualified for the competition in their home countries in the previous season. 16 of them made it into the group stage. It was the 49th edition of the EHF Champions League or the European Cup of National Champions. The Champions League games began in September 2008, the second round final took place in May 2009. Zvezda Zvenigorod was the defending champion. Viborg HK has won the Women's Champions League for the second time this season.
mode
Of the 32 teams, 16 reach the first group stage. The first two of each group then advance to the second group stage, where they play in two groups. The first two of these groups then play the semi-finals in the knockout system . All throw-off times are based on the home venue (time zones).
