Regina Sigmanto Kalinichenko ( Russian Регина Зигманто Калиниченко , born Ukrainian Регіна Зігмантович Шимкуте Rehina Sihmantowytsch Schymkute * 21st December 1985 in Biloserka , Ukrainian SSR , Soviet Union ) is an original Ukrainian handball player that the December 2014 Russian citizenship and after their marriage the name Kalinichenko accepted.
Career
Regina Kalinitschenko was born as Rehina Schymkute in Biloserka in Kherson Oblast . She played from 2000 for the Ukrainian first division club HK Dneprjanka Cherson and three years later moved to the league competitor HK Halychanka Lviv . In 2008, the back court player joined the Romanian first division club CS Oltchim Râmnicu Vâlcea , with whom she won the Romanian championship in 2009 and 2010. After the last title win, she moved to the Russian first division club GK Rostov-on-Don . With Rostov she won the Russian championship in 2015, 2018, 2019 and 2020. In the 2016/17 season, Kalinichenko took a break due to the pregnancy with her daughter. She ended her career after the 2019/20 season.
Kalinichenko initially played for the Ukrainian national team . With Ukraine she took part in the 2005 World Cup and in 2006 , 2008 and 2010 in the European Championship. After changing her nationality, she was a member of the Russian national team .
