Deonise Cavaleiro Fachinello (born June 20, 1983 in Santa Rosa ) is a Brazilian handball player who belongs to the squad of the Brazilian national team.

Career

In the club

Deonise Cavaleiro started playing handball at a school. There she initially guarded the gate, but was soon ordered to the back room by the coach there . At the age of 15, Deonise Cavaleiro moved to Cascavel , where she played handball at Escola Alfa for three years. She then played for a year and a half for the University of Ulbra from Canoas . Here she suffered a serious shoulder injury to Cavaleiro, whereupon she wanted to end her career. However, she changed her mind and continued her career in Guarulhos. After 16 months at the Guarulhos club, she joined Metodista.

Six months later, Deonise Cavaleiro received an offer from Europe, whereupon Metodista gave her approval. She continued her sporting career at the Spanish club Club León Balonmano, with whom she won the Copa ABF in the 2006/07 season. She then signed a contract with league competitor SD Itxako . With Itxako Cavaleiro was in the final of the EHF Cup in the 2007/08 season . She then joined the Austrian association Hypo Niederösterreich . However, after having problems adjusting, she returned to Itxako in January 2009.

In the summer of 2009 Deonise Cavaleiro signed a contract with the French first division club HAC Handball from Le Havre . Two seasons later, the back court player joined Itxaco again, with whom she won the Spanish championship a year later. In summer 2012 she returned to Hypo Niederösterreich . With Hypo, she won both the Austrian championship and the ÖHB Cup in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons . In the EHF Champions League 2012/13 Hypo Niederösterreich was eliminated after the preliminary round, but qualified for the current competition of the European Cup Winners' Cup . Here Hypo moved into the final and won the final against the French club Issy Paris Hand . In summer 2014 she joined the Romanian first division club CSM Bucharest , with whom she became Romanian champion in 2015. In December 2015 she signed a contract with the Danish first division club Nykøbing Falster Håndboldklub . In the 2016/17 season she played for the Danish club Odense Håndbold . She then moved to the Romanian club CS Măgura Cisnădie . In December 2018, she moved to league competitor SCM Craiova . For the 2019/20 season Cavaleiro moved to the French club Bourg de Péage Drôme Handball .

In the national team

Deonise Cavaleiro initially ran for the Brazilian junior national team and was then added to the squad of the senior national team. With the Brazilian selection she took part in the 15th Pan American Games in Rio de Janeiro , the 16th Pan American Games in Guadalajara and the 17th Pan American Games in Toronto , where they won the gold medal. The Brazilian also took part in the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing , the 2012 Olympic Games in London and the 2016 Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.

Cavaleiro took part in the handball world championship several times with the Brazilian selection . Deonise celebrated winning the World Cup title at the 2013 World Cup in Serbia . She also won the Pan American Championships in 2007 , 2011 , 2013 and 2017 .
