Odense Håndbold is a Danish women's handball club from Odense . The women's team plays in the highest Danish league.
history
The club was created in 2009 under the name Odense GOG through the merger of the financially troubled first division club GOG Svendborg TGI and the then second division Odense Håndbold. The club took over the first division license from GOG Svendborg TGI. In 2010 the club was renamed Handball Club Odense ( HC Odense for short ). At the start of the 2016/17 season, the club took on the current name Odense Håndbold.
HC Odense took part in a European cup competition for the first time in the 2013/14 season and reached the round of 16 of the European Cup Winners' Cup . A season later , Odense was eliminated in the 3rd round of the same competition. In the 2015/16 season , the team reached the quarter-finals of the EHF Cup . In 2018 Odense lost in the final of the Danish championship against København Håndbold .
